Destination Paris: Unveiling a new career move 🤩
Today, I start a new career journey at Photoroom, the leading AI-powered photo editing app enabling users to create studio-quality product pictures in seconds.
After a comprehensive interview process, including a trip to the Photoroom HQ in Paris for a round of on-site interviews, I'm excited to be joining as the first content marketing hire, overseeing the end-to-end content marketing strategy for our diverse audience of small businesses, makers, e-commerce merchants, and marketplaces.
It's been just over a year since I relocated to London from Guadalajara after being awarded the Global Talent Visa by the UK Home Office. The last year has been filled with diverse experiences and valuable life lessons.
I've enjoyed being closer to friends and family, picking up new hobbies like swimming and baking, and rekindling old ones like reading and travelling. One of my key travel highlights is my trip to Madrid to attend the Formula One exhibition and learn tons about the evolution of the F1 sport over the last decades.
On the career side, I spent the year working in the insurtech space with hyperexponential, a SaaS company enabling specialty and commercial insurers to price risks more efficiently. I learned so much about a brand-new industry and enjoyed attending insurance industry events and marketing conferences with my team. One of my favourite events was the AntiConLX Global marketing conference in London where we explored the future of marketing, AI, data, and the best tools for success.
I've also been busy running things over at Smarketers Hub, my marketing community providing African marketers with the resources and opportunities to build successful global careers.
I'm incredibly excited about this next phase of my career and life in London (punctuated with monthly trips to our Paris HQ.) Over the next few months, I'll focus on diving into the AI space to better understand this new landscape. Share anything interesting with me, or just connect to say hi and congrats :)
